Not a very good Sunday for The Crew, who went 0-2-1 last week, salvaging a push only after Marion Barber had perhaps the worst ten-minute stretch in NFL history. We would have, quite frankly, rather have had the loss. We'd pay to have the Tebow coverage go away.
A couple thoughts/stats before we get to The Super Play of the Day...
ESPN's Craig James has asked off his Tuesday assignment covering the Beef O'Brady Bowl in Tampa so that he may ponder a run for the US Senate (That, honestly, may be the most ridiculous sentence ever written). Again, like we said last week, The Playhouse will not become involved in politics, but if James were to run, it would be a win-win for everyone involved.
First and foremost, James running would mean he'd no longer be on the air, ending a long national nightmare. Secondly, because James is a horse's ass and a complete charlatan, he'd surely say one embarrassing thing after another on the campaign trail, only furthering exposing himself as a fraud.
Please, please, Craig, run. Do it for us. Other than having no campaign staff, no fundraising apparatus, no political experience and extremely high negatives, you are in a great position to succeed...
Arizona hosts Cleveland today and all signs point to John Skelton once again getting the start at QB for the Cardinals. If Arizona (-6.5) were to win, that would run Skelton's record to 5-1 while subbing for the oft-injured Kevin Kolb. We fully expect, therefore, for the national media to descend upon Phoenix and get thrown into a tizzy by this remarkable achievement...
Here's an amazing stat courtesy of RJ Bell of pregame.com: From 1960-2010, the Cowboys blew a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter just twice. After doing it last Sunday against the Giants, they've done it three times this season. But Tony Romo is still elite, don't forget that...
Home underdogs are 6-0 ATS this season. Kansas City is catching 14 today at home against Green Bay. If you can get to a window and throw down on the Chiefs, more power to you...
Teams 0-7 or worse have covered 66 percent of the time over the last 25 NFL seasons...
Super Play of the Day
The Saints have covered their last five games. Minnesota, over that same stretch, hasn't done it once. We'll stay with that trend. New Orleans -8
Other plays
Colts +6.5
Seahawks +3.5
