Friday's mailbag:

We literally get inundated with e-mail. Here's a sampling of the week's best:

Hey Joe,
Christian from Tucson, long time reader-1st time writer. I REALLY like the Rams at home this week...what's your take?..like? dislike?..not touching it?

Christian,

Thanks for reading and we really appreciate the e-mail. This game offers something we at the Playhouse usually love: a home underdog. Unfortunately, it also offers something else we don't love so much: the Rams. There's no way we can suggest getting to a window to support St Louis, no matter how overrated we think Green Bay is. We're staying away -- though, over the long haul, betting home dogs in the NFL won't make you poor.

Friday Bonus Play:

We look to keep the momentum going with this inter conference match up, pitting Mizzou, which has been surprisingly good this season despite losing Chase Daniel and Jeremy Macklin, and Nevada, which has been surprisingly dreadful. Expected to have one of the most electric offenses in college football, the Wolfpack have turned the ball over eight times in two games and were inexplicably shutout Week 1 by a slow and plotting Notre Dame defense. It's virtually the same personnel, by the way, that scored 35 or more points in every game last season.

Going against Nevada in Reno is not usually something we would recommend. At that altitude, it's tough trip. Late in the year, when the wind gets howlin' and the temperatures drop, it's a really tough trip. But Mizzou beat Nevada by 52 last season. A change of scenery and the lost of a few players can't make up for that. The Crew fully expects the Pack to put up some points, with QB Colin Kaepernick finally getting untracked. It won't be enough, however, as the Tigers will find little resistance going against a paltry Nevada defense. Missouri - 7.

Friday Warning to Sportsbooks everywhere:

The Playhouse is primed to release its Super Play of the Year on Saturday. Tell your friends.

Record to date:

6-11 (2-2 Super Plays)
