The Crew last week continued its strong run of Super Plays, winning easily on Seattle, which covered by a mere 48.5 points at home against the ever-embarrassing Arizona Cardinals. As RJ Bell of pregame.com points out just about every Sunday morning on Twitter: Lay down on the Seahawks at home and fade them on the road -- a formula that has cashed 63 percent of the time since Century Link Field (formerly Seahawks Stadium and Qwest Field) opened in 2002.
Meanwhile, the Super Play is now 18-9-2 for the year, and though the 'other plays' have been universally terrible, we told you months ago to fade them. So if you are still on those, that's no one's fault but your own.
Twenty-seven people, including 20 first-grade children were murdered on Friday at an elementary school in Connecticut by a deliriously mad, gun-wielding lunatic, who reportedly corralled his victims into two classrooms and shot them repeatedly at close range. It is without a doubt the worst, most gut wrenching crime that has occurred in our lifetime, and it's not really close. Six and seven year-old children massacred -- literally the definition of the word 'unthinkable.'
The Playhouse can not begin fathom what those kids must have went through in the moments leading up to the shooting, and the agonizing pain their families must now be feeling is not only heartbreaking but totally beyond our comprehension. All we know is that something needs to change in this country -- and quick.
So while we had a nearly 700-word rant prepared today for Rob Parker, the race-baiting, carnival barker from ESPN First Take, his braying antics are just not worth mentioning this morning. Without further comment, therefore, on to the Super Play of the Day...
