The Crew was on an insane baseball run, winning five in a row, including Thursday's plus money play on the Dodgers. Then, on Friday we decided to throw down on the Mariners, who are awful and proved it by getting spanked by the White Sox.

Even so, we have won six of eight, with the only other loss coming in hockey. Considering we hadn't watched a hockey game in nearly two years, that, in retrospect, may not have been such a good idea either. For the season, we are 13-5 in MLB, good for 72 percent. Wagerminds.com has it all documented.

This is not going to last all season. Hell, it might not last into the weekend. But we'll take it while it lasts, because we know full well that we have at least a week's worth of flame outs right around the corner.

Couple things before we get to the Super Play of the Day...

It's 13 games into the season, so we don't want to get too high or too low any particular team. The Dodgers and Baltimore, for instance, probably aren't this good and, alternatively, Boston and the Angels probably aren't this bad. The Rangers, though, those cats are the real deal.

Going into Friday, Texas led the majors in runs, OPS, batting average, home runs, total bases and quality starts. They were second in ERA, allowing one earned run more than the Phillies, and had a run differential of plus 46, best in the majors by 15 runs. Yes, it's a small sample size, meaning we are fairly confident they won't finish the season with an .846 winning percentage and 137 wins, but they playing on completely different level right now...

Don Banks, an NFL writer for Sports Illustrated, released his sixth mock draft earlier in the week. We'd think by the time you did something six times, especially something that only requires the ability to conjecture wildly and throw shit against the wall, you'd be pretty good at it. We have been proven wrong. At No. 1, Banks, of course, has Indy taking Andrew Luck. He then has Washington taking Robert Griffin III at No. 2, of which he writes:

How's this for karma: Griffin and his Baylor teammates beat the University of Washington in that dizzying Alamo Bowl slug-fest, and now the next uniform RG3 wears will be ... wait for it ... Washington's.

The University of Washington is in Seattle, WA, a mere 2,700 miles west of Washington, D.C. To be fair, it is indeed within walking distance -- but only if you have the 36 days Google Maps says it would take you to do so. That's not karma, Don. That's just you being lazy -- or, worse, stupid...
