Playhouse Update

The Playhouse largely took June off. Partly out of Mariners-related revulsion, partly out of exhaustion but, honestly, mostly out of writer's 'fatigue.' Our president has been distracted by his new professional writing job, one that oddly enough is quite unlike his last one in that it doesn't make him want drop kick puppies or start fights with random blind people on the street (Full disclosure: He worked for JPMorgan Chase, a refuge of liars and moral degenerates. Also full disclosure: Most of The Playhouse's over the last year were completed on company time. Suck it, Jamie Dimon).

So while he loves to write and is equally exhilarated by being on the losing end of plays, he no longer has to do this as an outlet for his otherwise miserable life. Still, the masses are clamoring for content, and its absence has been inexcusable, especially for a low-stakes firm such as this. We have been inundated with literally two or three emails from people demanding to know where we have been and what happened to us. Some of our more impassioned readers, in fact, have even obliquely asked in passing why there have been no posts in about three weeks. As journalists, it was an overwhelming feeling.

We pride ourselves in being the go-to source for sports betting in downtown Seattle, and we commit to being in this space every week from now until the end of the football season -- or whenever our bankroll dries up (probably mid September at the latest). Til Sunday...
