Tough break with last night’s Super Play. Up 14 and poised to cover, Arizona State couldn’t get out of its own way in the fourth quarter, muffing a punt and committing a string a bad penalties that allowed Missouri to get back in the game. Luckily for our president and founder, who got a double major in being awesome and pulling chicks at ASU, the Sun Devils were able to pull it out in OT.

Still, we’d make the same bet tomorrow if the situation presented itself. A lost bet doesn’t make it a bad bet. Sometime you get unlucky, which is what happened last night. Not that we are above making some bad plays; we’ll make plenty of them throughout the season. We just don’t believe last night was one of them.

Super Play of the Day

We heard all summer from the locals that Washington was a sleeper in the Pac 12, maybe capable of winning 10 games and getting to a major bowl. That was never going to happen, namely because they lost a four-year starter at quarterback, but probably more importantly because they can’t defend. FCS Eastern Washington gashed them for 500 total yards last week in a game UW was very fortunate to win. Hawaii isn’t great either, especially away from home, but they can score.

Washington-Hawaii over 52

Other Picks

NC State -1.5
Mississippi St -6.5
Duke +21
Utah +9
