October 16, 2011

The trip to Vegas did very little for The Crew, as we had a pretty pedestrian Saturday, going 2-2, including a big miss on the the Super Play. The boys now are officially in a bit of a rut.

At least we did better than the referees who worked the Oregon-ASU game. They were either drunk, high or distracted by Ducks' cheerleaders, which would be totally understandable. Oregon had one scoring drive extended by a very questionable rougher-the-passer penalty and another by a blatant missed call by the replay official. It was gross. ASU probably loses anyway, but it was a disappointing performance by those boys.

Other things The Crew noticed from yesterday...

- Don't know if we mentioned it, but Oregon's cheerleaders are hot. It's very interesting, too, because sources tell The Playhouse that most of the women in Eugene look like Rex Ryan.

- Wisconsin appears to be the real deal, but we're still reserving final judgment until they actually play someone. No, Nebraska and their turnover machine quarterback, Taylor Martinez, doesn't count. They'll face a tough test this week, when they travel to East Lansing to play Michigan State.

- Speaking of Michigan St, they should be placed on probation for wearing those unis yesterday.

- Boise St. yesterday put up close to 500 total yards in the first half against Colorado St. The Rams, of course, aren't exactly the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, but most teams couldn't do that in practice against air.

- The Crew is a believer in Washington. The Huskies are a factor in the Pac-12 North and we look for them to knock off either Stanford or Oregon.

Super Play of the Day

Buffalo is a nice story. We love the unis, we love that their fans, who seemingly without exception drive Camaros and wear gold chains, finally have something to cheer about after years of futility. The Crew, however, also loves Tom Coughlin after the Giants are coming off a loss at home as a favorite. The Giants will get in done today, moving the ball with relative ease against pretty porous Bills D.
