Couple thoughts from the week before we get to the Super Play...

It's almost like ESPN goes out of their way to embarrass itself. This week they ran a front-page story on ESPN.com about Dirk Nowitzki lending support to embattled Cowboys QB Tony Romo via Twitter. "Dear tony romo. Don't worry abt all the critics. I heard that same garbage for a long time. Keep working hard and keep improving," Nowitzki said.

First, now we wish Miami would have won The Finals. Secondly, with all the resources at their disposal, this is the crap ESPN publishes. If they would have cut and pasted a story from Penthouse forum, not only would it have been far more entertaining, it would have also been much better journalism...

This might have been the best 10-day run for baseball in our lifetime. The exciting final day of the regular season was one thing, but the three Game 5s, including last night's matchup of Roy Halladay and Chris Carpenter, reminded us why, at heart, The Crew will always be baseball guys. By the way, A-Rod still has six years and $180M left on his deal. By comparison, JaMarcus Russell's contract is a towering example of financial prudence...

Green Bay is by far the best team in the NFL. By far. They got bored last week against Denver. Also, Aaron Rodgers is without peer, and that includes Tom Brady, Drew Brees or whatever other QB you want to throw in there...

Super Play of the Day

Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder, who's like 145, seems about as fun as colon polyps. But dude can coach, winning 10 games or more seven times during his two separate stints at K-State. The Crew has never been to Manhattan, KS, but we've heard it's like El Paso with considerably less charm. If you can get kids to play for you in a town that dreadful, obviously, you know what you are doing. He does. He also has a good run defense and a dual-threat quarterback in Collin Klein, who ran for 113 yards last week at Baylor. We'll take the home team and the points here.

K-State +5

Other picks
