October 2, 2011

The Crew had another profitable day Saturday, hitting two of our three plays and only missing on the third when Colorado blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead at home to lowly Washington St. We're almost getting bored with handing out all these winners.

Couple thoughts from yesterday...

Barring a major collapse, Arizona State will win the Pac-12 South and play in the conference championship game. It is, however, less a reflection of the Sun Devils, who were awful last night in beating Oregon St., than the rest of the division, which is pathetic. UCLA is terrible, Utah has been a major disappointment, Arizona has given up almost 2,500 yards in the last four games, Colorado hasn't won a road game in almost four years and USC is ineligible. They'll get there by default...

Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma are the class of college football. Still, we could easily see Wisconsin, Clemson, Stanford and Boise all go undefeated. Since Alabama and LSU play one another, that still leaves the potential for six undefeated teams. Please let it happen, because it'll get us closer to a playoff if it does...

Florida-Alabama was a physical mismatch and became almost unwatchable in the second half. The coeds in the stands, however, accounted for some of the most talent we've seen all season...

Super Play of the Day

The Falcons visit The Crew's own backyard today looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Bucs last week. Usually we wouldn't throw down on a team laying points that has travelled across country, but the Seahawks offense is anemic with Tavaris Jackson at quarterback and Seattle 1-9 ATS coming off a home win. The Falcons also won here by 16 last season.

Falcons -4.5

Other picks

Cleveland -1
Green Bay -12

Super Plays: 6-3 (67 percent)
Overall: 15-12 (56 percent)
