Another Super Play winner Sunday, when the Cardinals won outright as a three-point home dog against Seattle. A rookie quarterback making his first start on the road should never be giving points. Never. That thing was a virtual layup.

A couple thoughts/stats before getting to the still unbeaten Super Play of the Day...

After news began to filter out Friday that Missouri starting quarterback James Franklin will miss today's game against Arizona State, bettors have been hammering the Sun Devils, with the line plummeting, from its open of +8, to +3.5.

Bettors must have really bad memories. Really bad. The Sun Devils haven't won a road game against a decent opponent since Bruce Snyder was the coach, and Missouri out of the SEC, backup quarterback or not, is still a decent opponent.

Moreover, while Todd Graham has done a great job of bringing some much needed discipline to the program (five penalties in two games), ASU hasn't been challenged in victories over NAU and injury depleted Illinois. We'd be interested in finding out how they will respond when they experience some adversity on the road. Will they revert to the pirate-ship, anything-goes ways of the Dennis Erickson era, where turnovers, mistakes and stupid penalties were the norm? Perhaps not. But you shouldn't be putting money at risk to find out.

Full disclosure: The Playhouse's executive team all went to ASU, so we know of what we speak. They are incapable of handling success or expectations. If we haven't made ourselves clear: DO NOT throw down on the Sun Devils today...

As residents of the state of Washington, we apologize for anyone who watched Washington State 'beat' UNLV Friday, 35-27. There are no doubt at least 20 high school teams in Texas who have more talent than the Cougars and Rebels combined. Just awful...

Courtesy of David Payne Purdum, Alabama, which is 20.5-point road chalk today at Arkansas, is favored for the 29th straight time. That's nothing. USC was favored an amazing 58 straight times from 2003-2007...

Teams favored by 45 or more are 109-0 straight up all time, according to Johnny Detroit of pregame.com. Against the spread, however, they are only 41-66-2. Today, Michigan (vs. UMass), Oregon (vs. Tenn Tech) and Illinois (vs. Charleston Southern) are all giving 45 or more. Tennessee Tech is the longest shot, according to bookmakers. The Golden Eagles are 450-1 on the money line if you want some of that...

Speaking of terrible bets, in what is becoming a regular feature, Johnny Detroit tells us that a $10,000 four-team parlay on Michigan, Illinois, Oregon and Cincinnati pays out $22.13...

Some high school cat went off for more than 600 yards rushing last night...

Jesus Christ, ESPN, we remember when College GameDay was must-see, go-to television, not an endless stream of non-sensical missives by the likes Desmond Howard, Samantha Steele and David Pollack. More Chris and Kirk, less everyone else...

Super Play of the Day
