The Crew is on fire, hitting on all three of our plays Saturday, including the Super Play of the Day, which is now a very impressive 13-7-2 for the year. All self deprecation aside, that shit is pretty good. Of course, we just put the kiss of death on ourselves by saying that, but having suffered through a terrible 2011, it feels pretty good. We are not entirely sure what our record was last year (mostly because we are too lazy to look it up), but we do remember spending much of December begging for table scraps and living in our car, so it's safe to assume it wasn't very good.

A couple thoughts/stat before getting to the Super Play of the Day...

Selena, we are still here for you if you need us. Keep your head up, girl...

Four years ago, USC quarterback Matt Barkley, then a true freshmen making his first-ever start on the road, introduced himself to America, leading a game-winning drive in the final minutes to beat Ohio State in Columbus. The game plan was conservative that night, but you could certainly see he had some skills that would serve him well moving forward. Ever since, most anticipated he would be the first pick in the NFL Draft someday -- us included.

Not any more. In fact, now dude is barely on our board, period. Indeed, though it has taken us awhile, we've come to the conclusion that Barkley is kind of terrible, and not only should he not first pick in the draft, we don't think he's worth more than fourth or fifth round selection.

Yes, Barkley is very effective when given the opportunity to set his feet, look over the defense and find a receiver. When he faces pressure, though, it's a different story entirely. He doesn't seem to know how to buy that extra crucial second in the pocket to allow plays to develop downfield. It's something of a sixth sense for great quarterbacks, and he just doesn't have it.

We have no skin in the game, but Barkley seems destined to follow in the footsteps of a long line of disappointing pro prospects from USC...

It is possible that the insufferable Craig James and his bratty son Adam were right about Mike Leach? If you believe Marquess Wilson, who 'resigned' from the Washington State football team Saturday, the answer is yes. Wilson slammed Leach and his coaching staff on the way out the door, accusing them in a statement to fans of mental and physical abuse.

This was going to be our year. My teammates and I were aspiring to be the winning team you deserve. Unfortunately for all, the new coaching staff has destroyed that endeavor. I believe coaches have a chance to mold players, to shape men, to create greatness. However, the new regime of coaches has preferred to belittle, intimidate and humiliate us. This approach has obviously not been successful, and has put a dark shadow on this program.

Far be it from us to takes sides with Craig James, but if Wilson is to be believed this kind of crap now seems to be a pattern with Leach, who doesn't seem to know the difference between applying tough love and acting like a total psycho...

Perhaps most troublesome for Leach: Wilson's accusations don't have to be true to do him great damage. Leach now has a rep for being a bully. He also coaches in one of the worst places in America, Pullman, Wa. Kids will tolerate terrible towns if they a) have a chance to win b) like the coach and c) think the school gives them a chance to play at the next level. Typically, however, three and four-star recruits don't want to live in a hell hole and play for someone who is deranged.

Good luck recruiting, Mike...

Since Century Link Field opened in 2002, fading the Seahawks on the road and playing them at home has cashed 63 percent of time, according to RJ Bell of pregame.com. Seattle is a 5.5 point favorite today against the Jets...

Teddy Covers, a pro gambler in Vegas who is a really good follow on Twitter, says the sharp money today is on New England (-14), Cincinnati (+5), Tampa (-3), Detroit (-3), the Jets (+5.5) and Dallas (-2), while the public is also on New England and Detroit but betting the Giants (-5), Denver (-4.5) and Baltimore (-7.5)...
