Mailbag

Berger,

Can I be your bookie? I'll give you +110 on all wagers.

Brian in Portland.

Brian, my man, we went 3-1! Yeah, we missed the Super Play, but, obviously, we would not have made that play if we knew the suddenly fragile Sam Bradford would be on the field for about three seconds (By the way, Sam, not entering the draft last year was an excellent decision. But, hey, what's $20-25 million guaranteed really mean anyway). All in all, it was a good, profitable day for The Playhouse -- something we desperately needed to repair our once sterling national reputation.

Super Play of the Day

The Carolina Panthers are the only team in the NFL not to cover a single spread this season. That's not good. But it's a trend that's bound to change, and if they can't do it this week against hapless Tampa, then when? Also consider: The Bucs are giving up 28 points per game and the Panthers are 45-4 ATS all time when they score that many. That alone is good enough for us. Lay it on the road. Carolina - 3.5

Other Plays

Minnesota-Baltimore Under 45.5
New Orleans -3
