April 9, 2012

The Crew's run of success came to a screeching halt Sunday, when we lost for the first time in a week, missing badly on the Rangers-White Sox over. It was the first baseball loss of the young season.

Sunday's edition also had a couple grammatical errors (since corrected) get by the editorial staff, a gaffe for which we apologize profusely. When The Playhouse was founded in 2009 -- it might have been 2008 -- our founder promised to faithfully adhere to all the hallmarks of good journalism: accuracy, truthfulness, accountability, objectivity and fairness.  We try hard to uphold those standards each and every day as a service our nearly five readers worldwide. Sunday we failed to do that. The appropriate people have been put on notice, knowing that if it happens again they will have to update their resumes.

A quick recap of our Masters performance before The Super Play of the Day...

The Masters was a mixed bag (pun intended) for us betting-wise. We thought the wet conditions at the beginning of the week would yield lower scores, but there were some nasty pins in rounds one and two that kept scores relatively high. All told, we finished in the red (another intended pun) because of the juice.

- Lowest individual round under 65 (-110) Won. Bo Van Pelt became our favorite golfer named Bo by carding a 64 Sunday.

- Tiger Woods under 70.5 first round (-130) Lost. Tiger, who shot 72 in round one, behaved like a petulant child all week. He increasingly sucks as a dude.

- Winning score under 275.5 (-150) Lost. Considering the juice, this one did some damage to our bankroll.

- Bubba Watson (-130) to beat Jason Day. Won. All Bubba had to do for us to win this one was remain alive through Sunday, as Day walked off the course during the second round with an injury.
