Wow, a lot has happened since our last post more than six months ago. Alabama won a national title in football, Duke won the NCAA tournament (which, incidentally, was perhaps the most dreadful March Madness ever. Close doesn't equal good; it just means two average teams played equally average, which is what happened for virtually three weeks), Tiger Woods became a bad golfer and ESPN continued to air astoundingly bad programs hosted by equally offensive personalities.

Now, the elephant in the room -- which is, of course, the decision of Joe Berger, Inc. to move its headquarters to Seattle from Las Vegas. Despite Internet reports to the contrary, we were not forced out of Clark County; rather, we left on our own accord.

The widely reported incident at Jet in January was a gross injustice. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was not a part of our crew that night and at no time were any of us aware of anything going on at his VIP table. We categorically deny all the allegations against us. That no charges have been filed speaks to our innocence.

After the incident, however, Joe Berger, Inc's board decided to move The Playhouse to Seattle. Simply put, the day-in day-out intrusion of the paparazzi put a constant stress on our staff and made it virtually impossible for The Playhouse to remain profitable. We thank Las Vegas for the great year but look forward to the opportunities the Northwest offers.

The Playhouse will be back tomorrow with picks, commentary and more -- promise.
