Best Unis / Worst Unis

Today, The Playhouse begins in earnest with our preseason preview, sort of. The hard-hitting conference previews, BCS bowl predictions, as well as some season over/under recommendations are due out mid to late August. In the meantime, we'll start out on a lighter note, posting some lists the editorial staff has compiled in the last month or so.

First off, Best and Worst Uniforms, with a little bit of twist. Not eligible for our Best Unis list is the usual suspects, the teams that are so often mentioned, year in and year out, by pundits and fans. It's too easy. Therefore, Ohio St., Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn St., USC, Alabama and Texas will not be included. They all have a great look, every one agrees. Ours is more of a sleeper list. In terms of worst, everyone's eligible -- and these schools deserve it, because it's almost hard to have bad football unis.

Best Unis

Best helmets in football, college or pro

1. Clemson - We have always been a huge fan
2. Ole Miss - Now, get rid of the rebel flag, please
3. Syracuse - Horrid team, great unis
4. North Carolina - Nice, simple and clean
5. Va Tech - The all white roadies are killer
6. Duke - See Syracuse
7. BYU - Horrid college experience, great unis
8. Colorado - Love the gold and black combo
9. Oklahoma St - The Crew must love orange
10. Ohio - Way underrated

Worst Unis

This dude runs a 5.5, maybe

1. Wyoming - Mustard yellow and brown that is no good

2. UNLV - Very arena league

3. Arizona - Make us want to burn couches

4. San Diego St. - Just awful

5. Iowa St - The same as USC's but with Iowa St dudes playing in them
6. Texas Tech - Kinda the Walmart of college unis
7. Cincinnati - The pants look like they belong at a Wham concert
8. ASU - Not excited about the changes
9. No. Illinois - They're like UNLV's for Midwesterners
10. Louisville - I don't think Walmart would sell these
