Fresh off a great weekend in Eugene and another Super Play winner on the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, The Crew is primed and ready to go Saturday.

A couple thoughts/stats before getting to the Super Play of the Day...

Social media is everywhere. Whether it's Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or the Penthouse Forum mobile app, the various platforms, for better or worse, are taking over our lives. In our niche, we'd argue that perhaps nothing has had as great an impact on the wagering world as Twitter, a never-ending pipeline of news and information that has served to furnish even the average bettor with the tools to gain an edge on the books

Therefore, in a new feature (that may or may not last beyond today) The Playhouse will begin unveiling the tweet of the week every Saturday. This week's winner is our boys over at Wagerminds, whose Ryder Cup observations Friday were as a keen as they were insightful, often hitting on particular facets of the game that lesser outlets missed. For instance:

Wagerminds also had a hand in perhaps the biggest story of the week: The revelation that Kirk Herbstreit enjoys peanut butter, a startling admission made public only after an hard-questioning fan doggedly pursued Herbstreit during a Twitter Q&A on Thursday. Overall, however, we thought this one was the winner. Honestly, whoever runs that feed is a funny dude.

Hopefully this prompts everyone out there to step up their game in hopes of appearing in this space next week, when we may or may not continue this feature, the continuation of which depends mostly on our ability to remember that we did it this week...

We just stated that Twitter is giving bettors information that, in large part, has driven them to make better, more informed decisions. The exception that proves the rule: The money coming in this week on Arizona State, which Saturday plays its second road game of the season against California.

Two weeks ago, ASU opened as a seven-point dog at Missouri before being bet down to as low as +3 in some spots. And while the Sun Devils, who lost by four, cashed for those who got them early in the week, there remains very little reason to place actual money on ASU away from home. Not only are the Sun Devils 5-16 on the road since 2008, they haven't won in Berkeley since 1997 and have a 4-22 overall record in the state of California since 2000, with two of those victories coming against San Diego State.

Against Cal, after opening as a two-point dog, ASU has been bet up to a three-point favorite. Yes, the Bears looked lifeless last week against USC and earlier this season lost to Nevada at home, while ASU was fairly impressive in hammering Utah last Saturday. But keep in mind that over the first four games of the season, the Sun Devils have faced the opposition's first-string quarterback for a total of 14 snaps. Fourteen! ASU is overvalued, folks, and the line move is absurd.

Again, The Crew went to ASU, so we'd like nothing more than for them to go into to Berkeley and drop an 55 spot on the Bears. But, sadly, it's not going to happen. Do not put money on ASU today...

We probably won't be on Oregon State tonight, but some of you may be interested to know that the Beavers have covered 11 out of their last 13 games against Arizona -- which for some reason has decided it will incorporate copper into its uniform scheme tonight...

We know Clemson wideout Sammy Watkins, who will sit today because of a stomach ailment, is good. But we also know that Boston College is terrible. Don't really understand all the money coming in our the Eagles, who have been bet down to +6.5 this morning after opening as high as +9.5. If we can find a 6.5, we will be hitting that (that's what she said)...

This is a wonderful story of redemption and perseverance out of Spokane, Wa, which is one of the worst places in the world...
